As a mother and businesswoman myself, I find that my to do lists are more important now than ever before. It’s important to establish a routine that works for you and your family while also dedicating time to your business. Being organized and efficient with your time can help alleviate stress and ensure that important tasks are completed. Something that I am really trying to be better at is to not be afraid to ask for help when needed, whether it be from family, friends, or hiring outside help. Remember to be kind to yourself and give yourself grace in both your business and motherhood journey.
Taxes, accounting, bookkeeping, budgeting, etc. – all the things about running a business that typically freak people out, including myself. I’m learning to not be so scared of my own business numbers. No matter how big or small, each month looks a little different. Being a smaller service based business comes with a lot of ups and downs in the finance side of things, but learning to adjust, adapt, and grow with it all is part of becoming successful on the numbers front.
As someone who is naturally impatient, it can be hard for me to remember that my idea of what success looks like can be attained, it just takes time. Waking up everyday and choosing to put in the work and enjoy what I do, while keeping my eye on the goals I’ve set for myself can be challenging at times. It’s also important to remember that you can have different pictures of success for different areas of your life. For example, my little family is a huge success to me. Having our daughter is the biggest win of my life thus far. The success of my business is it’s own category, same with my financial success. You can have more than one idea of success and not one or the other take away from each other.
With all of that being said, I hope that these little insights into some of the key things I’m currently working on can help you learn + grow as well!
