Sometimes you create your first logo to get started, and there is nothing wrong with that! Getting your business off the ground and taking those first steps looks different for everyone.
When I started my business, I was a completely different designer with a totally different style in design, and way less experience, so of course my own branding reflected that.
Realizing that it’s time to refine and grow your brand identity to meet you in the new stage of business that you’re in really shows how much you’ve grown and being able to recognize that is so important.
Take a look at Cousin Otto Mobile Mechanics. They put together a quick logo to get started and to meet them where they were in the early stages of their business, but then they realized “okay, it’s time for our brand identity to match our level of expertise”. They wanted to really show up in the best way possible in all areas of their business.

“Can you make this better for me? I feel like the logo could be so much stronger”, I immediately saw so much potential in their branding and got right to work in creating something that would make them feel beyond confident and excited to showcase their brand everywhere.

As a designer and business owner, I will never make snarky comments about anyone who has started with a Canva logo, or a totally diy solution to get started. I always celebrate the fact that you are taking steps and putting yourself out there with your dream and your business.
Sometimes it takes a little time to get your goals off the ground, and investing in every area of your business isn’t always realistic in the early stages, but once you are ready to take that leap and work with an official designer, I will welcome you with open arms and do a little happy dance when you choose me to create for you and help bring your vision to life.
Have you outgrown your starter logo and ready to create something that feels as elevated as you’ve become?
